  Fishing

Costa Rica is famous worldwide for fishing. Why? Because in this small country you find, on the Pacific and the Caribbean coast: sailfish, giant marlin, high-jumping tarpon, snook, tuna, wahoo, roosterfish, dorado, tripletail, billfish, fat snook, barracuda, kingfish, spanish and cero mackerel, jack crevalle and many, many more....

Fishing is better during the rainy season, May - November, but there is no good reason for avoiding the  dry season.

The most important places or regions for fishing are:

1. Cabo Blanco to the Gulf of Papagayo, Northern Pacific coast.

2. Cabo Blanco to Drake Bay, Central Pacific coast

3. Golfito and Playa Zancudo, Southern Pacific coast

4. Caribbean coast

There are two islands that are good for fishing, Santa Catalina Island and Caņo Island.

Most fishing companies include in their tours: transportation to and from hotel at the beach, lunch (full day), fruit, ice cold beer & soft drinks, coffee, bottled water, bait & tackle
