Study Spanish while you Travel: 2-4 weeks available - up to 5 different destinations: Manuel Antonio, Arenal, Tamarindo, Jacó and San José.

This new program allows you to travel to the most beautiful, exciting and peaceful places in Costa Rica while you study Spanish. The program is available for 2 to 4 weeks. Study for 4 hours a day and the other 20 hours left are yours to do whatever is good in town: hike, sunbathe, walk, explore or just rest... knowing that, day by day, you are improving your Spanish.

How It Works

Our Institute Headquarters are located in San José, but last year we initiated a "TRAVEL and STUDY Program".

This project was in response to the need and desire of the students to learn Spanish while they were traveling, visiting and discovering the most beautiful, exciting and peaceful places in Costa Rica.

We have several packages which offer the student the possibility of studying from 2 to 4 weeks in different destinations. The professor travels with the students to the destinations; they lodge in various lodging options - depending on the student's choice and availability of lodging. 

This means that we do not have a physical building where lessons are given. The "classroom" takes place at a comfortable location near the lodgings. The idea is to "transport" the classroom to the different destinations.

Purpose

The purpose of this program is to give the students the opportunity to study Spanish for 4 hours a day during the morning or afternoon, and allow the rest of the day to be free to hike, sunbathe, walk, explore or just rest... all this while practicing the Spanish the student is learning.

Characteristics

A. Possibility of spending one week in each destination

B. All our packages start in San José, to give the student's the opportunity to get used to:

1. the Costa Rican atmosphere and culture
2. a Costa Rican host family in San José
3. the Costa Rican public transportation
4. exchanging currency

C. Study four hours a day - morning or afternoon - group choice

D. Choose between lodging with a family or at local lodging

E. All packages require 4 students. Ask for: sign - up list, available dates and details.

F. If a group wants to participate by creating their own package, the option is available. We are open to new suggestions!

Requirements for all Packages

1. Packages require a minimum of 4 students to start the program. Ask for sign-up list
2. Confirmation has to be made at least 1 month in advance
3. Half Payment has to be made at least 1 month in advance
4. Full Payment has to be made 2 weeks in advance
5. No refunds will be made if cancellation is made 1 week prior to the starting date

Cost

• Cost for the lessons are:
• $  250 / 1 week
• $  500 / 2 weeks
• $  750 / 3 weeks
• $1000 / 4 weeks
• Homestay is $120 per week (from Sunday thru Saturday) In Tamarindo, homestay is NOT available
• Public or private transportation is available (between $6 - $25). Ask for details

Important Notes

• Ask for the available dates that best fit your schedule and the waiting list
• Homestay starts Sunday prior to lessons and finishes the following Saturday
• In Tamarindo, homestay is NOT available
• If homestay is not chosen, our Agency will help you find a local lodging
• Different lodging prices for High and Low Season
• Cost for local lodging varies depending on type of lodging chosen by each student. Options are: cabins or hotels. Provide us with your choice of lodging and we will send you cost details
• Transportation cost is not included in the lessons cost
• Public or private transportation is available (between $5 - $25). Ask for details
